1. Likhwithemba Booi is a 19-year-old young man, with quite a number of talents

2. Although he is now an actor of note, Likhey Booi as he is affectionately known, burst into the industry as a singer. He takes after his father.

3. Likhey’s love for music started when he was at Seventh Day Primary School.  He started his own group and that’s how it all began.

4. In 2019, when he was just 15 years old, he caught the attention of American actress Taraji P Henson after hearing him sing Ndikhethe Wena by Ami Faku in a video shared on her Instagram.

5. The video also captured some of the big names in the SA music industry like music producer DJ Maphorisa and rapper Cassper Nyovest. DJ Maphorisa even offered to sign him to make his dreams come true.

6. Likhey went on to collaborate with award-winning singer, Donald on a song called Sthandwa.

7. The rising star has performed live with his renowned artists like Samthing Soweto and Ntsika. Likhey has also performed at the Ebubeleni Festival in 2019 in front of 20,000 people. He was also invited by RMB Starlight Classics to perform with an orchestra in 2020.

8. In December 2021, he released his much-awaited single titled Bambelela. The son was produced by Christer Kobedi, who also produced Amanda Black’s albums.
