Many of us got to know Gail Mabalane as an actress. Her breakthrough though in 2010, when she auditioned in Idols SA Season 6. Gail became a Top 10 Finalist, but was the first to be eliminated after performing “Please Don’t Leave Me”, originally by Pink.
In 2011, Mabalane obtained her major acting debut role as Lelo Sedibe on the MNet TV Series “The Wild”. In August 2015, she made her first appearance on Generations: The Legacy. The talented Gail also plays Thandeka Khumalo on Blood and Water which is only available on Netflix. Recently she bagged her first lead as domestic worker, Zenzi Mwale on Netflix new series, Unseen.
One other thing about her is that, she is a beauty queen of note. Her mother entered her into her first pageant, “Miss Tinkerbell” when she was five years old. It was at this point that her family noticed her potential. In 2005, Gail entered one of the biggest beauty pageants in the country, Miss SA Teen. She went on to be in the finals, making it all the way to Top 5.
Gail wowed the crowed with her answer, which showed the intelligence she possesses. A question was asked by one of the judges, Penny Lebyane about the biggest challenges faced by the youth and how she was dealing with it.
