DJ Fresh Joins One of South Africa’s Leading Radio Stations. Many radio lovers have been anticipating for such an announcement. Thato Sikwane, better known as DJ Fresh departed from 947 in 2021, a move that left his fans heartbroken.

After that there were rumors that Fresh was among the radio legends, who were forming their own. That just remained a rumor though. A year ago, he introduced a new show 938 Fresh Breakfast, on a new online radio station. Fresh also has a podcast called What A Week (WAW), where many stars have been guests.

On even bigger news Kaya 959 has just announced that Fresh is joining them. He will host its flagship weekday breakfast show from Monday, 1 July 2026. Partnering with his long-time on-air collaborator and trusted producer, Thato Mataboge, DJ Fresh will bring his unmistakable energy, wit, authority and connection to listeners every weekday from 06:00 to 09:00.
