Social Media Reacts to Reports That DJ Maphorisa Assaulted His Rumored Girlfriend Thuli Phongolo. At the top of Twitter trends this Monday morning are two well known local celebrities, Thuli Phongolo and DJ Maphorisa. There are reports doing the rounds, that Maphorisa has assaulted Thuli, and he has been arrested.
As beautiful as she is, Thuli has always shared that she is single. Not so many people believed that, and they have linked the actress, DJ and influencer to a number of male celebrities. Among those that she has been linked to include, Duduzane Zuma, Master KG, Mr JazziQ and DJ Maphorisa. Of all these men, Thuli has maintained that there is nothing going on between her and them, and that she is a single lady.
When it comes to Maphorisa though, the closeness of him and Thuli just fueled the suspicions. On social media, a couple of photos and a very suggestive video where the two were dancing together, trended for quite sometime. Without no relationship confirmation from the two parties, many went with the conclusion that, the two are just good friends and nothing more.
The rumored couple are back at making headlines again, but this time around, it’s nothing to smile about. It is alleged that Maphorisa was arrested on Sunday afternoon for assaulting Thuli at her apartment in Sandton, Johannesburg. The incident was reported to police on the very same day.
According to Thuli’s statement, the altercation began when she confronted Maphorisa about their previous night’s argument during his booked gig. Things then escalated with Maphorisa allegedly slapping and punching her repeatedly on the chest.
