Relebogile Mabotja Mourns the Death of Her Loyal Radio Listener
Relebogile Mabotja Mourns the Death of Her Loyal Radio Listener. There is just a beautiful relationship between radio hosts and their listeners. Listeners feel connected to their favorite radio DJs, personalities, and shows. Also familiar personalities behind the microphone give listeners an actual person to connect with.
In turn these presenters get content that they are touching some people out there, and tailor-make their shows to suit the needs of listeners. One radio presenter who manages to have a great listener-ship no matter which radio station she is at, is Relebogile Mabotja.
Her radio journey began at Talk Radio 702, back in 2012, where she secured a role as a freelance radio presenter. In 2013 Relebogile went onto host Overnight Live and the Early Breakfast Show on Talk Radio 702 and 567 Cape Talk. She then went to Metro FM as a co-host and news reader for the Fresh Breakfast Show. She later went on to join the afternoon drive show, The King’s Suite, still at METRO.
Towards the end of 2021, Relebogile heeded back to Radio 702, where it all began. She is the host of the hit show, 702 Afternoons with Relebogile Mabotja broadcasting from 1 to 3pm weekdays. The prime slot was previously held down by Azania Mosaka, another phenomenal female media personality.
To show just how much Relebogile and Radio 702 have a deep bond, she still remembers her loyal listeners from back in the day. One such is Bra Willie, who was a frequent caller in her show. Sadly he has passed away, and Relebogile is clearly broken by the news.
“Just received the news of the passing of Bra Willie from Spruitview who was a frequent caller of my shows at 702 from when I started in radio. So sad because the regulars become a part of our community especially during those over night shows when the building was empty. Condolences to his family and may his soul Rest in Peace,” Relebogile said..
