Kaya FM Releases a Stand-In-Lineup as Dineo Ranaka Battles Suicidal Thoughts. Having an employer who cares about your well-being is such a blessing. Dineo Ranaka definitely found that when she joined Kaya FM.
Together with Sol Phenduka, Dineo hosts 959 Breakfast, a killer show loved by the listeners. Their engagement was in line with the continuous repositioning the station has embarked on since 2021. The two media personalities took over from former breakfast hosts Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe.
Sadly Dineo, who is among the star presenters as Kaya has lately been going through a rough time. The past three years have been difficult for her, as she went through the most. In 2021, Dineo went through divorce, after she reportedly suffered abuse at the hands of her ex-husband. She made news for a couple of negative things including not paying an influencer, being suspended at METRO FM as well as her work relationship with co-host at Kaya FM, Sol.
A few months ago, the media personality, traditional healer and entrepreneur revealed she has been in a state of stress and anxiety. For a moment, it seemed like, she has dealt with her demons, but it’s a far cry from that. She recently took to Instagram to share how she has been battling with suicidal thoughts of late. Among the things she said, Dineo said she now understands why people commit suicide. She added that she is trying hard not to take her own life.
Stepping in, her employers have shared that the take the well-being of their staff importantly. They have thus made immediate changes to their line-up after Dineo openly shared her struggles on social media. The stand-in line-up comes into effect Wednesday, May 24th, 2023.
“The well-being of our people is the most important priority for the Kaya 959 team, ” the radio station said.
The new line up is as follows;
“Sizwe Dhlomo will now stand in on 959 Breakfast from 06h00 – 09h00 every weekday morning. Sizwe will be joined by Sol Phenduka on traffic, as well as the news and sports team.
Thomas Msengana and Skhumba Hlophe fill in on Afternoon Drive from 15h00 – 18h00.
George Manyosi will host Last Call from 22h00 – 00h00 every weekday.“
