Vuyolwethu Ngcukana Bags A New Acting Role. In March 2022, it was announced that hit Mzansi Magic telenovela, The Queen, was getting cancelled. This was after 7 seasons of taking viewers through the hectic world of drugs, wealth, crime, soft life and among other things.
The first season brought about some of the best actors in the country. Among those being, veterans Sello Maake-KaNcube, Themba Ndaba, Thembsie Matu, Sipho Manzini, Connie Ferguson, the late Shona Ferguson and Zandile Msutwana. There was also Loyiso MacDonald, Dineo Langa, SK Khoza, Vuyolwethu Ngcukana, Natasha Thahane and so many others. Along the way the likes of Rami Chuene, Zenande Mfenyana, Joe Kazadi, Rapulana Seiphemo, Jessica Nkosi, Mbulelo Katse and Lorraine Moropa joined the cast.
The end of any show means loss of employment for the cast and crew members, and The Queen was no exception. Everyone became worried about the former employees, more so during these tough economic times. Luckily for some like Zandile, SK and Maake KaNcube, they got absorbed in other productions.
Vuyo, who played Schumacher, is the latest cast member to get an acting job. The talented actor, has been cast on a new romantic series called, 1802-Love Defies Time. The captivating Xhosa love story, follows two star-crossed lovers as they travel through time in search of their destiny. Other cast members are Sikelelwa Vuyeleni, Thembisa Nxumalo, Prince Grootboom, Motheo Ratikane, and Amanda Quwe, to name just a few.
1802-Love Defies Time premiers on 1 May 2023 and it will air on Mondays to Wednesdays every week, on 1Magic.
