Music Sensation Azana Opens Up About Dealing with Anxiety. She is currently one of the hottest musicians in the country and Africa at large. Born Makhosazana Masongo, Azana has captured millions of people with her outstanding voice.
The 22-year-old had her debut studio album in 2020, and it did very well. Ingoma debuted number one in South Africa and its lead single “Your Love” was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA).
Azana was recently a guest on The Episode podcast where she unpacked on topics such as “Your Love” success, her anxiety, love, Sun El Musician, Shaka Zulu movie, Uhuru and Lira.
For someone this talented, one would think Azana has always oozed confidence. That isn’t the case though, as she states that she has battled with confidence and stage fright.
Azana was only used to performing for her parents in the living room. When it comes to doing it professionally, she struggled. She reveals there was a time, her hands will sweat during interviews because of anxiety.
According to the songstress and songwriter she has suffered anxiety for the most of her life. It took years from her to gain confidence on stage and during interviews. Even though she still has anxiety its much better.
Her love for music has really helped Azana to cope with her limitations. Also the people around her, wants to see her go forward, hence, they help her in many ways to overcome anxiety.
