7de Laan Responds to Reports That Their Actor Has Been Arrested for Murder. There is just a lot happening in the country of recent. On Thursday, news broke out that a certain 7de Laan actor was in police custody for murder.

It is alleged that the actor had killed his young boyfriend and tried to take his own life afterwards, but did not succeed. The 50 year-old is said to have shot and killed his 29 year-old partner in Norkem Park, Gauteng. He then tried to commit suicide by taking some sleeping tablets. As expected a lot of people who followed the story wanted to know who the particular actor was. But hey, the name of the two have been withheld for now.

With social media users and the general public making assumptions, 7de Laan has thus decided to release a statement addressing the issue. The SABC2 soapie started off by stating that they are deeply saddened and disturbed by the domestic violence reports. 7de Laan further added that they have no idea of who the alleged murderer is.

“As it stands, we have no knowledge of the identity of the individual involved and would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and friends.

“Production has made efforts to establish whom the said individual might be however as per the law, a suspect’s identity cannot be disclosed until such time that they have been formally charged,” the statement reads.

7de Laan has also confirmed that the individual in question is not part of the current cast. “It is believed the suspect was an actor who featured in a number of South African soap operas, but it is still unclear as to which.
