Thapelo Mokoena Call Out A Company Using His Name for False Advertising. Quite a number of times, consumers are taken for a ride with fake advertising. There are always fake flyers around with names and faces of some public figures advertising events, products and services among other things.
The latest celebrity to be a victim of such kid of scams is Thapelo Mokoena. The award winning actor and TV personality’s name and face is being used by a company called The Speaker Firm. On their bio on Twitter, The Speakers Firm state that they offer exceptional high impact, relevant and insightful content from some of South Africa’s top speakers and talent.
They make it appear that Thapelo is one of the talents they work with. Sharing his picture on their page, The Speaker Firm introduced Thapelo as an actor, a TV producer, presenter and an MC ready for bookings. They shared their email address, where he can be booked for work.
Reacting to the advert, Thapelo has distanced himself from the company. He revealed that he doesn’t know The Speaker Firm, and regarded what they did as false advertising.
“FALSE ADVERTISING. I don’t know this company. Thank you,” Thapelo responded.
