South African Celebs React to the Untimely Passing of Costa Titch. On a very sad note, South Africa has lost one of its talented musicians. Costa Tsobanoglou popularly known by his stage name Costa Titch passed away on the evening of March 11th 2023.

The 28 year old award winning rapper, songwriter and former dancer collapsed on stage during his performance at the Ultra Music Festival at the Nasrec Expo Centre this past Saturday evening. Costs is known for hit songs like Nkalakatha and Activate, and he was becoming a force to be reckoned with in the industry. He recently signed to Senegalese-American rapper Akon’s record label Konvict Kulture. The multi-award winning rapper and entrepreneur recently featured on the remix of Costa’s hit song Big Flexa.

In a statement released by Costa’s family, they expressed that they are deeply saddened by his untimely passing.

“As a family, were are faced with a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves,” part of the statement reads.

The Tsobanoglou family also thanked Costa’s fans and the whole of South Africa for the love and support they have given to their son. Gratitude was also extended to the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on this earth. The family further asked for everyone to continue to uplift their deceased loved one even in spirit.

Since the news broke there has been a sombre mood on all social media platforms. This is because people were still battling to come to terms with another rapper’s AKA’s passing. The two had a very close relationship, and they had a song together, which featured another late rapper, Riky Rick.

A lot of our celebrities have joined the growing number of mourners, saddened by Costa’s death. The likes of Pearl Thusi, Sol Phenduka, DJ Warras, Lasizwe shared how heartbroken they are over the news.
