SA Celebrities In Full Support of the National Shutdown. Quite a number of our celebrities never shy away from talking about issues of national interest. We have the likes of Ntsiki Mazwai, Sizwe Dhlomo, Bonang Matheba, Pearl Thusi, DJ Warras, and so many others, who are not afraid of sharing their views when it comes to political issues.
One issue that is currently on most people’s lips is the National Shutdown. Organized by the Economic Freedom Fighters political party, the shutdown is done to demand for electricity and the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa. There are protests all over the country, most of which are documented on various social media platforms.
Some of our celebrities have been showing support to the ongoing protests as they are also fed up with some of the things currently happening in the country. Prince Kaybee is one of those celebrities, and he has shared a series of tweets, showing where he stands. Taking it a step further, the award winning DJ and music producer also added that he will be physically joining the protesters.
In one of his Facebook posts, Prince Kaybee said, “We can’t continue as if all is normal, all South Africans who are pained annoyed by the state of our country should support the #NationalShutdown
• People are dying in hospitals and small businesses are closing down due to load-shedding.
• Crime is high, people get slaughtered in the streets with no justice.
• Inflation is increasing food prices and people are losing their jobs.
• Roads are riddled with potholes and some are forced to drink dirty water while others don’t event have water to drink.”
Other celebrities like the Major League DJz and Mmabatho Monthso have also showed their full support for the shutdown. We also have the likes of Ayanda Thabethe, Amanda Black, Sol Phenduka and many more, tweeting about what is currently going on in he country.
