Thabiso Mokhethi Takes Us Back to His Days On Generations
Thabiso Mokhethi Takes Us Back to His Days On Generations. Those were definitely the days, when 8 pm was a time everyone wanted to spend in front of their TV screen. Generations, being the most relatable soapie among Blacks was a hit with viewers.
The show opened doors for many actor, among them Thabiso Mokhethi. The talented actor and TV personality played the role of Samuel Khumalo, from 2005 to 2011. Samuel was brother to Ntombi (played by Sonia Mbele). We watched Samuel and Sharon (Kagiso Rakosa) go through their ups and downs before finding love and showing us one of the best traditional weddings we’ve seen on television.
Sadly, after almost six years with the SABC1 soapie, Thabiso and Kagiso had to bid farewell to their roles. Their contracts were not renewed, much to their shock as well as the viewers. Generations was making way for new talent, hence some established actors had to go.
Taking us back to those golden days, Thabiso can’t help but gush over the entertainment they brought onscreen.
“Mara truth be told guys…girl and I really made magic playing these characters… I loved playing Samuel Khumalo on Generations
Kagiso as Sharon was one of the best on screen lovers I’ve had the pleasure to play alongside
It was lit everyday on set,” he said.
As a TV host, Thabiso presented a religious magazine show, Agape in 2008. He later went on to present another show on DSTV, Refresh. Thabiso was also the host of a Gospel show, Gospel Gold. While presenting shows kept coming in, he founded an events and talent management company called Living Righteous Entertainment.
Will he go back to acting? When one of his followers asked him that question, Thabiso said should the opportunity come, he will grab it.
