Shudufhadzo Musida Joins the Fight Against Blood Cancer Disorders
Shudufhadzo Musida Joins the Fight Against Blood Cancer Disorders. It is heartwarming to see our celebrities step up to help people going through the most. Just the other day Sidwell Psyfo Ngwenya took to Twitter to stand in solidarity with one university student with blood cancer.
Owami, who is studying BSc Mathematics and Applied Maths, has been diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anaemia. Therefore the 26-year-old is in need of a blood stem cell donor. Psyfo pleaded with the public to register DKMS Africa, to be blood stem cell donors.
One personality who continues to show us she has a heart of Gold is Shudufhadzo Musida. Just like Psyfo, the former Miss SA, model and TV host, has joined in the fight against blood cancers and blood disorders in the country. Using her public status, Shudu will raise awareness of the urgent need of stem cell donors.
“I’ve joined @dkms_africa in the fight against blood cancers and blood disorders in South Africa. I look forward to helping raise awareness of the urgent need of diversifying the global donor registry,” Shudu said.
She went on to explain that life-threatening illnesses such as blood cancer affect entire families. Shudu spoke about the financial burden, impact on mental health, access to medical care that families and patients go through.
“Through this partnership, I will work to add a voice, shine the light and ensure patients receive holistic support,” she added.
She also asked fellow South Africans to join the fight with er by registering to become blood stem cell donors with DKMS Africa. The non-profit Organization helps fight blood disorders and cancers like leukaemia. This is done through the recruitment of stem cell donors and maintaining a registry of potential donors.
