Reeva Steenkamp Remembered 10 Years After Her Passing
Reeva Steenkamp Remembered 10 Years After Her Passing. Gone but definitely not forgotten. This Valentines Day marks ten years since model and paralegal Reeva Steenkamp was shot dead by her then boyfriend, Oscar Pistorius.
Valentines Day is normally a day when many couples celebrate the love they have for each other. They do soy buying each other gifts, spending quality time together, spoiling one another with love among other things. Sadly for Reeva, this was the day she lost her life a decade ago. Oscar, who is known as “Blade Runner” for his carbon-fiber prosthetic legs, was jailed in 2016 for the killing.
The former Paralympic and Olympic champion, is currently serving his jail sentence.
Although she wasn’t as famous as Oscar, Reeva was a model doing very well for herself. She was one of FHM magazine’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World for two years running, appeared in international and South African advertisements and was a celebrity contestant on Tropika Island of Treasure filmed in Jamaica. She was also the South African face of Avon cosmetics among other major achievements.
Reeva’s family and friends are doing everything to keep her memory alive. In August 2022, My Name is Reeva documentary was released. This was to help the public to get to know her even more. The three-part documentary series is based on her life and the events which led to her shocking death on Valentine’s Day in 2013. It features intimate interviews with Reeva’s parents as well as close friends and family.
As today marks 10 years since we lost Reeva, a number of people are choosing to remember her. With beautiful posts they have taken to social media to mark the 10th anniversary of her passing.
