“My Next Radio Chapter is Daytime or Nothing,” Hulisani Ravele
“My Next Radio Chapter is Daytime or Nothing,” Hulisani Ravele. Nothing beats the confidence of knowing what you want, and sticking by it. When so many people settle for anything that comes their way, career wise, Hulisani Ravele is all about bagging gigs that align with her goals and aspirations.
She is still in her 30’s, but Hulisani is veteran in the South African media landscape with more than 20 years of experience as a broadcaster. The media personality is best known by many for being the presenter on SABC’s YoTV from 2001, at the age of 9. She successfully made the transition from kids television to mainstream media and has grown immensely as a formidable TV Host and Radio Presenter.
She currently hosts, 947 Weekend Breakfast with Hulisani on Saturdays and Sundays 07:00 to 10:00. The vibrant Hulisani entertains her audience with the biggest hits, sometimes deep conversations and a definitive guide to the fast-paced Johannesburg lifestyle.
As it is the nature with radio, there are always reshuffling of some staff members at a particular time of the year. Some presenters’ contracts don’t get renewed and they are left out of jobs. One of her followers on Twitter asked Hulisani if she will be the new Weekend Breakfast host on Radio 702. The show is currently hosted by media personality Refiloe Mpakanyane.
It turns out Hulisani is aiming higher than doing weekend breakfast shows. She feels at this stage of her career, this is her last weekend show. Hulisani wants to do daytime, and doesn’t want to settle for anything other than that.
“No, I won’t. #947WeekendBreakfast will be my last weekend show at this stage in my career. My next radio chapter is daytime or nothing,” Hulisani said.
