Lunga Mofokeng Celebrates His First Ever TV Award Nominations
Lunga Mofokeng Celebrates His First Ever TV Award Nominations. It has been a longtime coming. Lunga Mofokeng has been killing his role as Andile Dikana on The River, and now he is receiving his well deserved flowers.
Andile is one character relatable to many people out there. As the only son born from a wealthy family, he is expected to carry its legacy.. Although he is in the family business, Andile chose his own path as far as his personal life is concerned.
He came out of the closet as a gay man, something that did not sit well with his mom, Lindilwe Dikana. Because of such choices, Andile has been through so much, including trying to commit suicide after his family tried to force him to marry a woman. He even spent some time in police custody after he was framed for murder. Andile was also at some point kidnapped, among the horrific things he has dealt with.
As the man behind the character, Lunga has never disappointed. He is one of the actors we have in the industry, who kills the gay character without trying too hard. Sadly, Lunga hasn’t yet got the recognition as everyone would expect. His co-stars such as Sindi Dlathu. Hlomla Dandala and Presley Chweneyagae, have bagged several awards for their roles on The River.
We are quite confident that Lunga’s time has arrived. The talented actor and TikTok star has just bagged his first TV nomination, and we are here for it. He has been nominated under the Outstanding Supporting Actor as well as Viewers Choice Best Actor categories at the upcoming Royalty Soapie Awards.
“My First Ever Television Nomination! Couldn’t have asked for a Better character than Andile Let’s Bring it home #TheRiver1Magic,” Lunga gushed.
