The multi-award winning actress has just been named among The New York Times Top 10 Best Actors of 2022. This is for her outstanding performance in The Woman King. On the hit film Thuso plays Nawi, an ambitious recruit. Nawi is part of an all-female military unit led by General Nanisca, played by the multi-talented Viola Davis.
For this role, Thuso gave it her all. It was not only about talent an]s an actor, the film also required some physical strength. To achieve some of the hectic stunts they pulled on The Woman King, the cast had to go through some intense training. According to Thuso, they had three hours of martial arts a day, weapon training, lifting weights, punching and sprinting.
All of the hard work that Thuso put in for the movie is now paying off. We are anticipating a number of awards for our Golden Girl. While we are still waiting for those, we are celebrating her success as one of this year’s New York Times nest actors.
