Breaking! Stage 6 Load Shedding to Be Implemented Till Further Notice. Things has just went from bad to worse. When so many citizens were complaining of the inconvenience caused by Stage 3 load shedding, now thy have to brace themselves for more hectic situations.

Just a day ago, Eskom announced that Stage 3 load shedding would be implemented from 4pm on Tuesday until 5am on Wednesday. It was added that the higher stage will be repeated on Wednesday afternoon, while Stage 2 will run from 5am to 4pm until further notice. The power utility explained that load shedding was implemented due to a high number of breakdowns. There was then a requirement to preserve the remaining emergency generation reserves while creating space to replenish the dam levels at the pumped storage schemes

In a shocking turn of events, Eskom has just announced that as of 12 noon today, load shedding stage 6 will be implemented. A full statement with more details will be shared with the public as time goes by.

Stage 6 load shedding will be implemented from 12:00 until further notice. This is due to a high number of breakdowns since midnight, as well as the requirement to strictly preserve the remaining emergency generation reserves. Eskom will publish a full statement in due course,” the announcement reads.

Stage 6 load shedding means shedding 6000 MW. Stage 6 doubles the frequency of stage 3. This means you could be affected 18 times for four days for up to four-and-a-half hours at a time. Some South Africans can also expect load shedding 18 times over eight days for about two hours at a time.
