Just recently, the multi-award winning actress bagged an interview on The Daily Show. Thuso was interviewed by another South African star based in the US, Trevor Noah. She opened up about what it was like to work with Viola Davis, as both actresses play lead roles on hit movie, The Woman King. Thuso also revealed why she decided to pursue acting, and what she hopes to achieve with her new production deal with Paramount+.
Because of the major achievements Thuso constantly bags, South Africa is very proud of her. Celebrities, her industry peers as well as the public at large are forever praising her. One individual who sang Thuso’s praises recently is Penny Lebyane. The media personality applauded Thuso for still looking so young, something that she credited to a clean lifestyle.
What didn’t sit well with a lot of people though is that in her praise to Thuso, she subtly dragged some of our female personalities. Penny said Thuso doesn’t abuse herself with alcohol, attending local industry parties, while chasing to be an IT girl.
One of those who called Penny out for her comment is Vuyo Ngcukana. The talented actor who plays Schumacher on The Queen advised Penny to compliment Thuso without taking jabs at other people. He added that Thuso has warned against this kind of behavior in the past.
“But Thuso has spoken on this type of behavior, she’s asked that people not do this Penny, this is not a compliment, take your jabs without using her name,” Vuyo said.
