An All White Affair for DJ Sumbody’s Memorial Service. The moment a family releases memorial and funeral details, it sinks in, that the individual has really left us. Just a few days ago, DJ Sumbody was out and about doing his thing, now plans are underway for his memorial and funeral serviced.
Oupa John Sefoka (popularly known as DJ Sumbody) became gun violence victim on the wee hours of Sunday. The 38-year-old businessman and musician was gunned down along with one of his bodyguards, known as Sbu. The sad incident happened in Woodmead, Johannesburg while he was on his way to another gig.
His memorial service will take place on Wednesday, November 23, at 10am according to a notice by his family. As we all knew, DJ Sumbody was a cotton eater. He was one of the best dressed entertainers, who always rocked expensive labels. To honor him, the theme for the memorial service will be all white, so people are expected to come looking their finest.
The statement shared by his family describes him as “A lover of people and bringing premium experiences in the hood, his Veuve Clicquot All White parties were a testament of his passion of bringing culture, lifestyle, good music and showcasing amazing talent.”
Although the venue is yet to be confirmed,DJ Sumbody’s memorial will be broadcast through a live stream on YouTube and Facebook. Links to streams on both platforms will be shared with the public on the day of the memorial.
His family has also announced that his burial will take place on Saturday in his home province, Limpopo, at Ga-Masemola, Apel Fourways Cross at 07:00.
