Thandiswa Mazwai on the Role She Played on Her Siblings After the Passing Away of Her Mother. Losing a mother is one of the most difficult thing to happen to children no matter their age. The Mazwai siblings know this very well, as they lost their mother Belede Mzawai 30 years ago.

It goes without saying that they were still young and had so they had to learn from an early age to look out for each other. As the first born in the family, Thandiswa had a bigger role of helping to raise her younger siblings. Her job has not gone unnoticed, and two years back Ntsiki took to Twitter to appreciate the exceptional job Thandiswa did as well as the hardships that came with it.

Recently Thandiswa was a guest on Ntsiki’s podcast, Unpopular Opinion, and she discussed the issue a bit further. The two sisters were all emotional as they went down memory lane of their childhood as well as how losing their mother affected them.

When her mother passed away, the multi-award-winning musician was only 16 years old. Sadly she had to take on the parenting role and help in raising her siblings, while she was a child herself. Thandiswa bought other kids clothes, and everything they needed because there was no one available to assist in that regard.
