“Why Y’all Keep These Dogs?” Sol Phenduka After a 10 Year Old Got Killed By Family Pit Bulls. They say a dog is a man’s best, but when it comes to some breeds one has to be extra careful. One of those breeds has to be the pit bull, a dog which has claimed the lives of many people.

One of the most heart-wrenching recent pit bull attack is that of a 10-year-old Gelvandale boy, who was mauled to death by the family’s two pit bulls at his house in Antia Drive. The incident took place Monday afternoon when the deceased and two other children were in the house with the two family dogs.

It is alleged that at about 13:15, police were alerted to the incident and on arrival shot both dogs inside the house. At this stage, it is unclear what had happened when the two dogs turned on the boy, who sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The two other children escaped unharmed.

This unfortunate incident has sparked some conversations on Twitter with a number of social media users calling for the breed to be banned in the country. One of those who added their view is media personality and musician Sol Phenduka. Commenting on the horrific story, he asked why people are still keeping these dogs.
