Nonhle Beryl On Why She Chose to Renounce Her South African Citizenship. It goes without saying that South Africa is one of the best countries to live in. So many African national have fled here to access better services, and for better living in general.

Having noted that though, so many citizens have left the country for a better quality of life outside. Leading the pack are celebs like, Trevor Noah, Charlize Theron, Thuso Mbedu Nomzamo Mbatha, Asanda Foji, who are now making waves abroad. Some people have left to escape all sorts of crime, poor leadership and poor services.

Another celebrity who has moved abroad for a better life is Nonhle Beryl. The talented singer and actress, moved abroad 14 years ago and renounced her South African citizenship four years ago to become German. Beryl is happy with her choices and always encourages others, more especially women to relocate abroad.

As the situation in South Africa in terms of crime and services get worse, many locals are on social media airing their grievances. One stated that he wouldn’t mind living in a country that has high tax if the tax works for them. He complained that n South Africa we are taxed like crazy and we have none of that. Nonhle jumped in the conversation stating that, these are some of the reasons she chose to renounce her South African citizenship, to become German.

“This is why I chose to renounce my South African citizenship to take up German citizenship. All of this. We pay extremely high taxes, but I can walk alone at 2 o’clock in the morning, I can get a university degree for practically free of charge, and I’ve never seen a pothole,” Nonhle said.
