Lira Shares More About Her Stroke 6 Months Into Recovery. On this day six moths ago, Lira went through the most. The multi-award winning songstress suffered a stroke while she was in Germany for a performance.
As expected the worst happened, as Lira’s ability to communicate, in particular, her speech, was impacted. She however, assured the public that he was in great hands. So many of her fans as well as industry peers took to social media to wish her recovery. Their prayers together with the medical attention Lira received worked wonders. She always updated on how she was doing, the greatest improvement being the ability of regaining her reading and writing skills.
It has been six months now, and Lira’s recovery journey has been quite impressive. She took to social media to celebrated her milestone as well as sheds some light on aphasia and dysphasia. These are the serious conditions that Lira went through.
Aphasia is a brain disorder where a person has trouble speaking or understanding other people speaking. This happens with damage or disruptions in parts of the brain that control spoken language. It often happens with conditions like stroke. As for Dysphasia, it is a language disorder marked by deficiency in the generation of speech, and sometimes also in its comprehension, due to brain disease or damage.
“Can you believe it’s been 6 months – how time flies. The second and third frame is where I used to be at! I am feeling like myself yet I’m still on my recovery journey. It’s going to take some time- but it’s reversible! This process has been fascinating for me and although it’s quite challenging at times, I am happy 😊.
Just to be alive each day is a blessing. To be among friends and loved ones is a precious gift. Many of you have been rooting for me and your support has meant the world to me,” Lira said.
