Jamie-Lee Domburg Exits Expresso
Jamie-Lee Domburg Exits Expresso. In October 2019, Expresso welcomed two new presenters to their team. This came after SABC3 ran their popular Presenter Search on 3, which has birthed many of our favorite personalities.
Presenter Search on 3 spring-boarded the careers of the previous winners: the late Simba Mhere (Top Billing), Jonathan Boynton-Lee (Top Billing), Zoë Brown (Expresso), Danilo Acquisto (Afternoon Express and Win a Home) and Jade Hübner (Top Billing) all of whom became household names. Their journeys to stardom started in the queues of Presenter Search on 3.
Jamie-Lee Domburg is also one personality who made her star shine brighter thanks to Presenter Search on 3. Together with Kuhle Adams, they were the only female contestants who made it to Top 5, and they also became winners and instantly joined Expresso as hosts.
The two ladies did exceptionally well, making a mark in the industry. Sadly, even good things do come to an end, and three years later, Jamie-Lee is exciting the SABC3 morning show. She had her last show on Wednesday morning, and it was quite an emotional one.
“After 3 years of laughs, learning, and crying with my beloved @expressoshow family, waking up at 4am with a smile on my face everyday because I absolutely love what I do. Tomorrow morning will be my final show waking up with you South Africa. It is certainly not an easy decision to walk away when this truly is my passion,” Jamie-Lee said.
Jamie also spoke about how the show has had an impact on her both personally and professionally. She also hinted that there is a possibility of her coming back to Expresso.
“If I ever do decide to come back, I’ll be a better version of myself and more ready to serve this audience, but for now as a woman and a mom in South Africa, I have to take as many opportunities that I can to work on myself. This is definitely not goodbye to you Expresso just a little detour in my journey.”
