Arthur Mafokate and Queen Sesoko Celebrate Their Daughter Owami Turning 21. They grow up so fast don’t they! Just the other day Owami Mafokate was just a little baby born of very famous South African musicians. Now she is a whole 21 year old woman paving her own way in the industry.
The talented DJ is the daughter of Kwaito King Arthur Mafokate and Gospel star mom Queen Sesoko. When it comes to Owami’s career choice, it is quite clear that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. She is following in her parents’ footsteps, and has been making waves on the music scene since her debut on Yo-TV.
Her being in the industry as a DJ has nothing to do with her parents though. It was in fact Owami’s big brother Arthur Junior, a music producer and DJ, who showed his little sister the ropes. One of her biggest projects was teaming up with former Jamali singer Liesl for thumping dance track Hold Us Down. Her idol is the one and only African best DJ, Zinhle.
Today Owami is celebrating her 2st birthday and her parents couldn’t help but be proud. Although she is an adult, to Arthur and Queen, Owami will always be their baby girl.
“We raised a PRINCESS! Happy Birthday my baby @OwamiMafokate #HappyBirthdayOwami21 Damn! 21 years old,” Arthur said.
“Owami turns 21 today, and I can’t wrap my head around it. I only remember holding her in my arms for the first time two day after he was born, gosh, I have a story to tell….” her proud mom gushed.
