Wiseman Mncube Expresses Gratitude to Well Wishers for His New Role on The Wife. Replacing a character who started with a show, is never an easy task. Even if you are as talented as Wiseman Mncube, people will always talk.
The award winning actor has been cast as the new Mqhele on The Wife Showmax series, and he takes over from Bonko Khoza. For two season, Bonko displayed amazing acting skills as he played the lead role of Mqhele, Hlomu’s husband. As much as this is a character everyone loved to hate, many were impressed by Bonko’s acting skills, and he was nominated for DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice and SAFTA Awards for the role.
Since Mqhele was Bonko’s breakthrough role, many people will remember him for it to times indefinite. That is hwy it was sad a couple of weeks back, when it was revealed he is leaving the show. Reasons for his departure haven’t been shared yet, but one thing for sure, the show must go on. Another actor has been roped in to carry on with the role.
Wiseman has been received with mixed emotions by fans of The Wife. Some say he is the perfect alternative, while others don’t see him doing the iconic role any justice. At this point, it doesn’t matter how anyone feels, because Wiseman has the job. He took to Instagram to share how much he appreciates those who welcomed him with warm hands.
