My Name is Reeva Documentary Almost Here. Nine years ago, the Steenkamp family lost one of their members in the most brutal way. Reeva Steenkamp was shot dead by former Paralympic and Olympic champion Oscar Pistorius, who is currently serving his jail sentence.

Since the two were both well known public figures, the incident is still deeply embedded in the minds of millions across the globe. Although she wasn’t as famous as her then-boyfriend Oscar, Reeva was a model doing very well for herself. She was one of FHM magazine’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World for two years running, appeared in international and South African advertisements and was a celebrity contestant on Tropika Island of Treasure filmed in Jamaica. She was also the South African face of Avon cosmetics among other achievements.           

The upcoming documentary will help the public to get to know her even more. My Name is Reeva will premiere this August which is Women’s Month and Reeva’s birthday month. The three-part documentary series is based on her life and the events which led to her shocking death on Valentine’s Day in 2013. It features intimate interviews with Reeva’s parents as well as close friends and family.

Part one of My Name is Reeva will premiere on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) on Monday 25 August at 20:30. Part two will be scheduled on Thursday 1 September and the third installment on Thursday 8 September at 20:30. Episodes will be on available on catch up after its broadcast on M-Net.
