Mbalenhle Mavimbela Gushes Over Being The Cover Girl of Dudu Busani-Dube’s Latest Novel. It doesn’t get bigger than this. First Mbalenhle Mavimbela scored a lead role in The Wife Showmax telenovela, and now she is a cover of the book that inspired the series.
Towards the end of 2021, Showmax commissioned three seasons of The Wife series, inspired by Dudu’s books Hlomu the Wife, Zandile the Resolute, and Naledi His Love respectively. The books follow the lives of the eight Zulu brothers, a formidable crime family, through the eyes of the wives they marry. Mbalenhle bagged on Hlomu the Wife, where she assumed the lead role of Hlomu. Although some people were not happy about this casting, they soon warmed up to her because of the talent she displayed.
Sadly, even good things do come to an end, and it was announced a couple of weeks ago that Mbalenhle has left after two seasons with the series. There are rumors doing the rounds that she is expecting a bundle of joy, hence why she can’t be part of the upcoming season.
All is not lost though, as Mbalenhle continues to be a very big part of The Wife series. The author of the book series, Dudu Busani-Dube is about to drop another book titled, The End. Mbalenhle has been revealed as the cover of the book, and we are as excited for the news as much as she is.
