Kabelo Mabalane Pens a Touching Tribute to Tokollo Tshabalala. Monday morning we woke up to the sad news of Tokollo Tshabalala‘s passing. The 45-year-old hit musician’s lifeless body was found by a family member in the morning after he died during his sleep. His death has been linked to his battle with epilepsy.
He made a mark in the industry as a member of the 90’s Kwaito group TKZee. In 1994, the group released their iconic album, Halloween, which became a huge hit with smash singles like We Love This Place. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry of SA as it sold over 200 000 copies. It also earned them four awards at the SA Music Awards for Best Kwaito Album, Best Duo/Group, Best Single and Best Kwaito Single.
TKZee recently made a comeback this year when they performed at the Cassper Nyovest vs Naak MusiQ celebrity fight. Sadly Magesh passed on before the trio could release new hits. As expected his death hit the other group members, Kabelo Mabalane and Zwai Bala. On the day of his passing, Zwai shared a press statement from the family, which informed the public of Tokollo’s passing.
Today, he as he is being laid to rest, Kabelo has taken to social media to also share something. The award winning musician and Pastor spoke about their impact in the industry and their life in general.
“….we changed the world and impacted a generation. You’ve left an indelible mark, you can be very proud of yourself.
We are laying you to rest today. We’ve lived easily five lifetimes in the thirty years I’ve known you. What a ride it’s been my nigga. See you when I get there,” Kabelo said.
