Important Information for Applicants:

  • The monthly stipend ranges from R2 661.68 to R8 093.01 depending on the qualification level.
  • Individuals who have already participated in or benefited from any Internship Programme for a period of 12 months or more will not be considered.
  • Applicants must be in possession of a recognized qualification or N6 for TVET students applying for WIL for Nated Diploma recognition.
  • Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • Applications must be submitted through on-line application system available at www.durban.gov.za by clicking on Jobs. Please note that faxed, emailed, manual, or late applications will not be accepted.
  • Due to the anticipated high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
  • Employment Equity principles will apply in the recruitment process, to address imbalances in work experience placement for designated groups Persons with disabilities who meet the requirements are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online by following the process outlined below:
Step 1: Log onto www.durban.gov.za click on Jobs where you will be redirected to E-Recruitment and select the Internships and Learnerships link. Ensure that you choose the correct website.
Step 2: Create a user profile by clicking on Sign Up (if you do not have an account)
Step 3: Once your profile has been created on the system. You will receive an email confirming that you have successfully registered. This email will contain your username and Password which can be used to access eThekwini job opportunities
Step 4: Once logged in, you may complete and submit your application.
Step 5: Ensure that all fi elds are populated
Step 6: Once you have applied, an email acknowledging your application will be sent to your inbox so ensure you have a valid e-mail address
