Veteran Actor Setlhabi Taunyane Joins a Major TV Drama. This month a year ago, Rhythm City fans were saddened by the fact that their favorite TV soapie was coming to an end. The decision to decommission Rhythm City was part of a business strategy, which includes reviewing a show’s on-air life cycle.
In keeping with e.tv’s mandate on local productions, the was replaced by a new local daily drama, House of Zwide. Sadly for Rhythm City fans, this meant that they had to bid farewell to their cast members as well as the captivating storyline that came with the show. The good thing though is that some of the Rhythm City actors are being absorbed on other major shows.
One of those who just got a new acting job is Setlhabi Taunyane. The 65-year old veteran actor has joined the cast of SABC2 drama Muvhango. Taunyane will play a new character just known as Uncle Letsatsi. Nothing has not been revealed about this character, but one thing for sure, Taunyane is going to kill the role and we can’t wait.
Taunyane is famously known for his role on Rhythm City as Bra Kop. He has also appeared in several television shows including seasons one to four of Soul Buddyz, Justice For All, Isidingo, Hard Copy, and Society, a 2007 SABC1 mini-series.
Taunyane has also appeared in the featured film Where Others Wavered, alongside Danny Glover. He has also held stage performances in other countries including America, Canada, and Australia. Besides singing, Taunyane also has several interests including singing, dancing, playing bass guitar, percussion and drums, and mime. He is also a writer, music arranger, playwright, and director.
