Thando Thabethe Pens a Touching Tribute to Busi Lurayi As She Gets Laid to Rest. It has been over a week since the untimely passing of Busiswe Lurayi. The mother of one was pronounced dead at her residence on Sunday, 10 July 2022.
Since her death, tributes have been pouring in for the award winning actress. Many remember her for the amazing work she did in the industry. Busi is best known for her starring role as Phumzile on the SABC1 sitcom City Ses’la and its spin-off series Ses’Top La which premiered in 2012. She has also been on shows like, Sokhulu & Partners, Generations, Wild At Heart and medical drama series ER just to mention a few.
Busi also played lead on Netflix comedy series, On How to Ruin Christmas. She killed her character Tumi Sello, who was the black sheep of the family responsible for most of the drama at major family gatherings. Thando Thabethe played Beauty Sello, Tumi’s one and only sister. The sibling rivalry as well as the chemistry that the two actresses displayed onscreen, made it look like there were blood sisters.
It was a given that, Busi’s passing was going to affect Thando a great deal. The media personality, actress and entrepreneur hasn’t said much, until today when Busi was laid to rest. As difficult as the situation s for Thando, she is grateful that they have worked alongside each other on set. She also spoke about Busi’s qualities that made her stand out above her peers.
