Sad Note: South Africa Mourns Talented Actress Busi Lurayi. The local entertainment industry has once again suffered a very heavy blow. The country is mourning the sudden passing of talented actress Busisiwe Lurayi.
Busi has passed away at the age of 35, but her cause of death has not yet been revealed. A statement from her family has been making the rounds on social media, and it states that the star passed away at her home, on Sunday.
“Busisiwe passed away suddenly and was pronounced dead at her residence on Sunday 10.07.2022 by medical personnel. The reason for her death is still unknown as we await the results of the autopsy report,” the statement reads.
Many have come to know Busi when she starred in Netflix’s How to Ruin Christmas series. She plays Tumi Sello, who is the black sheep of the family. On How to Ruin Christmas:The Wedding, Tumi returns just to ruin her younger sister Beauty’s wedding, before it even takes place. She then spend the next three days frantically trying to get things back on track.
In December 2021, Busi also continued with her role on part two of the Netflix series, How to Ruin Christmas: The Funeral. The sequel brought us Beauty and Sbu’s first wedding anniversary, Lydia and Themba’s first Christmas as parents and the family’s first Christmas without their beloved matriarch, Gogo Twala. She unfortunately passed away after a fun-filled day under the not-so-watchful eye of Tumi.
Fans of the series were excited when it was announced a couple of weeks ago that their favorites show is back for another season. How to Ruin Christmas: The Baby Shower is currently in production, but sadly the star of the show has just lost her life.
