SA Celebs Remember Riky Rick on What Would Have Been His 35th Birthday. One death that has hit many people hard in South Africa and beyond this year, is that of Riky Rick. It is during milestones like his birthday that we get to realize of how big a personality he was.
When it comes to the entertainment industry, Riky was an all rounder. One of his greatest achievements, in addition to his music and fashion legacy, is the establishment of Cotton Festival. This came from his record label Cotton Club Records which he then expanded into a music festival, lifestyle and clothing brand, Cotton Fest. Riky was a force to be reckoned with in the fashion industry, and inspired a lot of people to dress better.
The multi-award winning rapper, producer, singer, songwriter, and fashion icon, sadly passed away on the 23rd of February 2022 at the young age 34. The cause of death was reported as suicide after a lengthy battle with depression. Today as it would have been Riky’s 35th birthday thus, fans, fellow celebrities, music and business associates as well as loved ones have chosen to honor him.
In celebration of his birthday, Legends Barber shop, a business he co-owned relaunched a new store at Waterfall Corner. The relaunch was attended by the late Riky’s wife, Bianca, his children, founder of Legends Barber Sheldon Tatchell among many. Music channel, Trace Urban, also honored Riky by playing his hits.
