Here Is What Some of Our Stars Have to Say About Their #SAFTAs16 Award Nominations. The award season is definitely upon us. A few weeks back we were served entertainment, glitz and glam at the DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards. We also saw deserving stars get rewarded for the effort they out in their craft.
We also have another award ceremony in the cards. The 16th annual South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas) has announced the nominees for this year’s awards and we can’t wait. The awards are trending on social media with excited fans hyping their stars.
One category that the masses are looking forward to is the Best Actress in a TV Comedy category. As much as it is a closely contested category, what got people talking is the fact that the recently deceased Busi Lurayi got nominated. The nomination is for her role as Tumi Sello, who is the black sheep of the family on Netflix comedy series, On How to Ruin Christmas.
Sadly Busi is not here to speak for herself, but she is being celebrated by loved ones nonetheless. Other nominees have taken to various social media platforms to share their feelings. The likes of Thembisa Mdoda, Kgomotso Christopher and Jafta Mamabolo are exited for their nominations, and we are equally happy for them as well.
The SAFTAs will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of September 2022 as a simulcast on SABC 3 and Mzansi Magic channel 161.
