Nomzamo Mbatha Celebrates World Refugee Day With a Powerful Message of Encouragement. When it comes to philanthropy work, she is one of the celebrities doing the most out there. Some of Nomzamo Mbatha’s goodwill work include giving out bursaries to the less privileged students as well as coming through for refugees across Africa.
The talented actress and humanitarian has been serving as a LuQuLuQu High Profile Supporter for several years and was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency in January 2019. Since her appointment as a High-Profile Supporter for the LuQuLuQu campaign in 2017, she has visited four refugee camps with UNHCR in Malawi, Kenya, and South Sudan.
On Monday it was World Refugee Day, and Nomzamo seized the opportunity to preach a message of hope as well as encouragement. She started by stating the valuable lessons she has learnt from being a Goodwill ambassador, and went on to encourage others to remember those who have been forced by life situations to be displaced.
“On this #WorldRefugeeDay Being a Goodwill ambassador and connecting with our displaced brothers and sisters has taught me much more about human will than any other experience I’ve ever gone through. With numbers growing exponentially with each passing decade we need to amplify the voice of the voiceless. May we all remember the most resilient people who’s human cause after facing deep adversities is to overcome and rebuild. May we restore their dignity and give hope breath again,” she said.
