“I Will Not Be Bullied Anymore,” Legend Manqele Responds to Accusations of Swindling Another Artist
“I Will Not Be Bullied Anymore,” Legend Manqele Responds to Accusations of Swindling Another Artist. As they always say, this is a ‘dog eat dog’ industry. Many entertainers, be it singers or actors, always cry foul about being cheated by producers. They are made to sign contracts that don’t favor them, and end up being broke even though their works is celebrated
One TV producer, who is always involved in these kind of issues is Nkululeko “Legend” Manqele. In December 2021, it was reported that he has allegedly been dodging Levergy Marketing Agency that was trying to recover more than R3 million that was paid into his account mistakenly for services rendered in 2019. He has also had a fall out with media personalities, one of them being Bonang Matheba.
Legend is now faced with fresh allegations from Khuzani Mpungose. The Maskandi artist says Legend swindled him out of the profits from the reality show they did together for SABC.
In his response, Legend stated that he has invoiced Khuzani, and like everyone else he must wait for the payment date. He also mentioned that he is tired of always being made the bad guy and that poorly managed artists run to Twitter instead of doing things accordingly.
“I’m actually tired of this rhetoric. If people can’t invoice I’m not going to pay. Poorly managed artists now depend on Twitter to do their job. We as a company have processes and if they aren’t adhered to we end up in the dog box. I will not be bullied anymore,” Legend said.
