Clement Maosa Aims at Raising a Million Sanitary Pads to Help Keep Girls in School. It is always heartwarming to see our celebrities reach out to the less fortunate like this. Quite a number of our celebs have stepped up to help young girls who cannot afford sanitary pads.

A year ago, media personality Lerato Kganyago embarked on a mission to eradicate period poverty. This initiative came into being after Lerato heard so many horrific stories of young women using, leaves, mud, plastic bags, potato peels, because they couldn’t afford sanitary pads. From the beginning of Lockdown last year, Lerato managed to donate thousands of sanitary pads throughout the country.

This is a cause close to Clement Maosa’s heart. The Skeem Saam actor is also well known for his philanthropic work, which he executes through his Bakgethwa Foundation. A day ago he launched a campaign titled Million Comforts in partnership with Caring 4 Girls, Imbumba Foundation and Dischem Foundation.

These foundations aim to raise a million sanitary towels to keep a girl child in school. They have asked for the public to help by simply buying a pack of sanitary pads at Dischem and dropping it at the million comforts bin at the entrance,

We will not rest for as long as there is a girl out there who can’t afford a pack of sanitary towels, today we launched the #millioncomforts campaign in sandton city to raise a million sanitary towels to keep a girl child in school through @caring4girls @imbumbafoundation @dischemfoundation so when you go to @dischem.beauty please buy a pack and drop it at the million comforts bin at the entrance and you will be making a huge difference,” Clement said.
