Thapelo Mokoena has starred in so many movies and TV drama,s and he always delivers a stellar performance. This time around though, he promises we will be eating from the palms of his hands.
The multi-award winning actor, TV personality and entrepreneur has bagged himself yet another lead role. Mokoena is on the upcoming Showmax horror series, Pulse, which was shot both in South Africa and Mauritius. Pulse is about an international group of game creators who discover that survival is no longer just a game when an electromagnetic pulse bomb fries every electrical circuit in their office high-rise – and people’s heads.
Mokoena, who plays a lead role, regards his acting on the series as his proudest work yet. “No offence to every other amazing series I’ve made, but Pulse is really one of the most, if not the most, amazing project I’ve ever made in my 20-year career,” Thapelo said.
Other cast members on the series include, SAFTA winner Tarryn Wyngaard. She plays Jaz, creator of a hit indie game that’s getting a mainstream reboot, for better or worse. The six-episode survival horror series also stars Sven Ruygrok and two-time Silwerskerm winner Carel Nel. There are cameo appearances from multi-award-winners Albert Pretorius, and Laré Birk, as well as stage and screen legend Frank Opperman.
