Sad Note: Jamie Bartlett Passes On. The local entertainment industry has just been hit by yet another hard blow. On a very heartbreaking note, reports are coming in that Jamie Bartlett has just passed away at the age of 55.
After the sad news broke, social media users immediately went online to pay touching tribute to the veteran actor. The details surrounding his death at this stage are still sketchy. Many remember Bartlett for his iconic role as David Genaro on e.tv soapie, Rhythm City. He is still referred by many as Genaro, which is quite evident that he killed that role. Bartlett went on to win a SAFTA award for best actor for his role of David Genaro.
Bartlett was born in Maidenhead, UK in 1966 to a South African mother and a British father. The award-winning actor has been on so many shows on TV. Among those is his role on SABC 3 drama Isidingo in the 90s, which he won Vita award and Crystal award for best South African actor for. Bartlett has also worked alongside Hollywood’ superstars like Steve James, Hillary Swank and Angelina Jollie.
