Industry Peers Remember Jamie Bartlett in Beautiful Tributes

Industry Peers Remember Jamie Bartlett in Beautiful Tributes. He will go down history as an actor who slayed one of the most feared villain characters on TV. Jamie Bartlett played David Genaro on Rhythm City, for a good thirteen years, until 2020 when he left the e.tv soapie.

The award-winning veteran actor and SA’s Got Talent judge, was comfortable playing the character everyone loved to hate. As much as Genaro wasn’t a fan favorite, the man behind the character was loved all over the country and beyond. This is solely because Bartlett was a very good actor, who brought humor, class and power to the character. He won a SAFTA award for best actor for the Genaro role.

Apart from Ryhythm City, Bartlett has also been in many theater plays and he toured Switzerland with The Fire Rising play. He has also won a Vita award for best actor in the play Cock and Bull Story. He used to act on Isidingo in the nineties and he won Vita award and Crystal award for best South African actor for his role on the show.

He has appeared in more than twenty films both locally and internationally including White Lion, Prey, Red Dust and recently The Long Walk to Freedom. Sadly Bartlett lost his life on Monday aged 55 years, and everyone is in a sombre mood.

Social media platforms are full of beautiful tributes from his fans and colleagues, who have chosen to celebrate his life as opposed to dwelling on mourning. Bartlett’s industry peers have also went public to share their grief as well as special moments they have had with the late star.
