SA Celebs React to Black Coffee’s Grammy Award Win. What a beautiful way to start off a new week. Black Coffee has once again put South Africa in the world map with a major international award. He has just bagged his first Grammy Award for hit album, Subconsciously.
The multi award winning DJ was battling it out in the Best Dance or Electronic Album category, making him the first South African producer to won or let alone be nominated in this category. He is also the first African DJ to win the award. Coffee beat Sylvan Esso, Illenium, Major Lazer, Ten City, and Marshmello to scoop the award.
Coffee is currently topping social media trends, as the whole nation is proud of him. President Cyril Ramphosa is among those who congratulated him on Twitter. Other personalities such as Oskido, Robert Marawa, Anele Mdoda, The Major League DJz, Ayanda Thabethe and Katlego Maboe are among those who joined in to congratulate our superstar.
This was definitely a big night for South Africa as these prestigious awards were hosted by our very own Trevor Noah. This is the 2nd time in a row that the multi award winning comedian and TV host get to host the Grammy’s and he is now becoming a fan favorite. Talk about taking South Africa to the world!
