Pearl Thusi Gets Dragged for Her Views on Grammy Awards
Pearl Thusi Gets Dragged for Her Views on Grammy Awards. We have to give it to her that she is not afraid to share her opinion, no matter how unpopular. A month ago Pearl Thusi found herself at the top of social media trends list after she weighed in on supporting Zola 7. While many people were feeling for Zola, and felt he was neglected Pearl somewhat blamed Zola’s past.
“The awkward GBV moment kinda made things a bit tricky,” she said.
Now she is making headlines again, for what she tweeted. The talented actress and media personality is not happy that Wizkid did not bag the Grammy Award this past Sunday. The Nigerian singer was nominated for Best Global Music Album, but lost to Beninese singer and songwriter, Angelique Kidjo. Pearl said because of this, she doesn’t take these awards ceremony seriously, and that they are a celebratory show with cool statues.
“Wiz not winning a Grammy is just another reason I kinda don’t take the Grammy’s too seriously. It’s a celebratory/fun show with cool statues. African artists have proved they don’t need them but they’re a nice to have. But also I could be wrong. That’s just me… all love,” Pearl said.
Well, as expected, Pearl is once again trending. Her tweet did not sit well with so many people, considering the fact that Black Coffee has just bagged his first Grammy Award. They feel Pearl should concentrate on congratulating Coffee as many South Africans are doing instead of looking down on the Grammys.
