SA Celebs React to Will Smith Slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. This will go down as one of the most dramatic incidents to happen in the history of Oscars, or any award ceremony for that matter. Will Smith shocked the world when he slapped Chris Rock across the face during the live Oscars awards ceremony.
The veteran award winning actor and rapper went onto the stage and slapped Rock after the comedian made a joke about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s hair. Rock said he could not wait to see Jada who suffers from alopecia, in GI Jane 2. At first Smith laughed at the joke like most people, but within seconds, he stormed to the stage where he proceeded to slap Rock across the face.
“Keep my wife’s name out of his f***ing mouth,” Will said.
After that, Smith then received an award for Actor in a Leading Role award for King Richard. In his acceptance speech, he was all emotional an apologized for his actions. Smith also compared his role as a husband and father to that of Richard, who is the father of tennis aces Venus and Serena Williams.
