Social Media Reacts to the Upcoming Documentary on the Murder of Senzo Meyiwa
Social Media Reacts to the Upcoming Documentary on the Murder of Senzo Meyiwa. Forget the OJ Simpson’s case, this one here is definitely one of the most controversial celeb murder cases ever. Since Senzo Meyiwa got gunned down in 2014, in a room full of people, no one has been named as his murderer yet.
Meyiwa was shot in front of his girlfriend, musician Kelly Khumalo at her Vosloorus home in 2014. Among those who were in the house include Kelly’s sister Zandile Khumalo-Gumede and Chico Twala’s son Longwe. Since then, there have been a frenzy of speculation on the circumstances surrounding the alleged robbery. In June 2019, it was reported that, at least eight people were about to be arrested for the murder of Meyiwa, and in October 2020 five suspects were arrested in connection with the soccer star’s murder.
While the courts are yet to pin the murder on the guilty culprit, Netflix is bringing more attention to the case. They have been working on a documentary series, titled Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star, which will premiere on the 7th of April 2022. The series features exclusive interviews with Robert Marawa, former Hawks head Shadrack Sibiya, as well as Advocate Gerrie Nel and Meyiwa’s family.
As expected social media users have shared their views on the documentary. A lot of people are hopeful that this will shed some light on the case, and finally the killer will be identified.
