Phelo Bala Opens Up About His Long Term Battle with Severe Depression. Because of depression a lot of people have lost jobs, businesses, relationship, and some have even lost the will to live. So many suicides have happened due to depression, which affects anyone despite their financial or social status.
Celebrities like Connie Ferguson, Zoleka Mandela, Lasizwe, Salamina Mosese, K Naomi, Penny Lebyane and Bonnie Mbuli are some of those who have opened up about battling mental health issues, including depression. Although they seem to have it all, these personalities have gone through the most in their lives. The good thing is that they are able to talk openly about such problems, thus giving hope the the millions of people who look up to them.
The latest personality to go public about their depression is Phelo Bala. The talented musician is celebrating his 31st birthday today, and seized the opportunity to open up about his battle with depression. According to him, he has had severe depression from the age of 16, which make it 15 years of struggle. Phelo celebrates the fact that he is still standing, and learning to love himself and be kinder to himself.
“So many times i thought i wouldn’t see another year. So many times i wished i didn’t… Living with severe depression since i was 16 and somehow i’m still standing and somehow fighting my way through this thing called life.
I’m learning to love myself and be more kinder to myself. Though I have many reasons not to celebrate, i have so much more to be grateful for. I guess God is not through with me just yet. Happy 31st Birthday to me❤,” Phelo said.
