AKA Accused For Stealing Instruments For His Single “Sim Dope”

Hip Hop rapper AKA and his producers are accused of stealing instrumentals for his single, from “Sim Dope” from a Hip Hop group called TMC. It is said that the group hails from Mpumalanga. The group said that they recorded and released a song early last year with the help of producer Solead Beats.

A former member of the group who is still a friend of the bands, Kholofelo Sekatane said:”The band did a song called Born Great and uploaded the song to the internet around March last year. After that we heard the song Sim Dope and saw that it was uploaded around July,”

They group believes that AKA’s producers stole the song’s instrumental at the time.
The former member also added that the sound is identical. “The instrumentals, especially when the song starts, are the same as on Sim Dope,”

TMC has not decided on legal action yet but Kholofelo says that they simply want recognition for what is theirs.
Kholofelo says the band has tried to reach out to AKA for some kind of explanation but he has not responded to the matter.

AKA is doing a good job playing it cool. just few days ago, he tweeted news about him putting final touches to his video for ‘Sim Dope” which is soon to be released.
