Lorna Maseko’s New TV Show Is Here. The day that a lot of her fans have been waiting for with baited breath is finally upon us. Towards the end of 2021, it was announced that Lorna Maseko will host a new lifestyle series, Homegrown Tastes South Africa. The time has come, and Lorna has just updated her fans that it’s on.
On Homegrown Tastes South Africa, the media personality, celebrity chef and author will take a journey across South Africa, to meet local celebrities, renowned chefs, producers and restaurant owners. In each episode Lorna will prepare her own interpretation for local chefs and these celebrities. Taking to social media, Lorna announced that the BBC Lifestyle 10 episode show, will start airing on Wednesday the 23rd of March 2022.
“News Alert ? So excited to announce my new show on @BBCS_Africa #HomegrownTastesSA airing Wednesdays a 20:00 on DSTV channel 174. The show kicks off on the 23rd March – hope you’ll be watching and tuning in with me – can’t wait for you guys to see it,” Lorna announced.
Lorna is among the best TV hosts to ever grace our screens. She began working in television, presenting and producing Afro Showbiz News and The Weekender for SABC. Lorna then went on to become a finalist on the 2006 season of Top Billing, which she returned to present in 2010.
In 2015, Lorna competed in the Celebrity edition of MasterChef South Africa and discovered her passion for cooking in the process. She hosted the 2016 cooking reality series Top Chef SA and landed her own series The Hostess with Lorna Maseko on SABC3, the following year. In 2018, she began posting videos on her YouTube channel Lorna With A Pinch Of Salt.
Lorna then took her cooking to the international stage in 2019, making the cover of Women’s Health. She went on to host the World Restaurant Awards in February in Paris and became the guest speaker at TEDxKedgeBS. Lorna then went to Stockholm in April to contribute to EAT Forum, a non-profit organization combating world hunger. She participated in Taste of London and Taste of Dubai.
